About Amethyst
The name Amethyst derives from the Greek word ametusthos, meaning “not intoxicated”, and comes from an ancient legend about the wine god Bacchus. Later, Romans would stud their wine cups with amethyst believing this made the wine powerless to intoxicate. However, beware of believing this folklore when using our pipes.
